How to choose a luxury dropshipping supplier (2026)
Lhira Marcial ·
Why your supplier matters more than your store
In luxury dropshipping, the supplier decides most of what your customer experiences. Your store sets the price and the look. The supplier decides whether the bag is actually in stock, how fast it arrives and what happens if it comes back.
That makes choosing a supplier the most important decision a new luxury store makes. A cheaper subscription means little if half the listings are sold out by the time an order lands.
This guide covers the seven checks we would run on any luxury dropshipping supplier, including us. Each one is something you can verify yourself before you commit.
Seven checks before you pick a supplier
1. Real stock, not a wish list
Ask how many products are in stock today, and how that figure breaks down by category. A large brand list is easy to publish. What matters is how many items you can actually sell this week, in the categories your store focuses on.
Check the split too. A catalogue that is mostly clothing suits a fashion store, but a bag-led store needs real depth in bags.
2. How often stock and prices update
Luxury stock moves fast, because suppliers sell the same pieces through several channels. Ask how often the feed updates stock and prices, and whether that frequency depends on your plan. Slow updates are the main cause of cancelled orders.
3. Integration with your store
If you sell on Shopify, check for a dedicated app rather than a CSV you upload by hand. A good app imports products, keeps stock in sync and passes orders back automatically. If you use another platform, ask exactly which integrations exist today, not which are "coming soon".
4. Where the goods ship from, and how
Shipping origin decides delivery times and how your customer experiences duties. Ask which carrier the supplier uses, whether shipments are tracked end to end, and how duties and taxes are handled for your main markets.
5. Authenticity and sourcing
Ask where the stock comes from. Suppliers who buy from established distributors and brand partners can explain their supply chain clearly. Vague answers here are a warning sign.
6. Returns and order problems
Every luxury store gets returns. Ask what happens when a customer sends an item back, who pays the return shipping, and how quickly a refund or credit is issued. Get the answer in writing before you launch.
7. Pricing that leaves you a margin
Compare the supplier's cost price with the price your customers expect to pay. Add the subscription, shipping and payment fees. If the margin only works at full retail price, it will not survive a discount season.

We don't sell watches or jewellery, so if those are core to your store, you will need a second supplier.
The easiest way to judge us is to look for yourself. Install the Luxury Brands Fashion Dropship app on Shopify and choose "Skip to demo" to browse the catalogue without connecting your store. If you sell outside Shopify, contact us to preview the catalogue.

FAQ
What is a luxury dropshipping supplier? A wholesaler that lists designer products in your store and ships each order directly to your customer. You don't hold inventory or buy stock upfront.
How do I know if a supplier's stock is real? Ask for the in-stock count by category and how often it updates. Then browse a demo or preview and check whether popular items are available in a range of sizes.
Can I dropship luxury brands on Shopify? Yes. Choose a supplier with a dedicated Shopify app, so products, stock and orders sync automatically rather than through manual CSV uploads.
What should I check about shipping? The carrier, whether every parcel is tracked, typical delivery times to your main markets, and how duties are handled for your customers.
Does Luxury Distribution sell watches or jewellery? No. Our range covers clothing, shoes, bags, accessories and leather goods.
