Marketing on $0: organic Instagram, TikTok and Pinterest
Lhira Marcial, LD Academy · · 6 min
In Lesson 6 you added 10 products that passed the three filters and chose your three strongest. Today we start showing them to people without spending a cent. Organic social media won't make you rich overnight, but it gets your first visitors, proves which products people react to, and gives you content you can reuse when you start paying for ads.
Pick one main platform, not three
Posting everywhere at once usually means posting badly everywhere. Choose one platform to focus on and treat the other two as places to reuse your content:
- Instagram: best when your niche is visual and lifestyle-led. Reels reach new people; carousels and Stories keep your followers engaged.
- TikTok: best for reaching people who don't know you yet. Short, honest videos often beat polished ones.
- Pinterest: best for searchers who are planning a purchase, such as gifts or an outfit for an event. Pins keep sending traffic for months.
Go back to the customer you described in Lesson 2. Where do they spend their time? Start there.
What to post when you don't have a studio
You don't need a photographer. You need a clear reason for someone to stop scrolling:
- Styling ideas. One piece, three ways to wear it. This works for bags, shoes and outerwear.
- Details up close. Hardware, stitching, materials and lining. Luxury buyers want to see the quality before they trust the price.
- Answers to real questions. How does it fit? Does it come in black? Who pays import charges? Every question a customer asks you is a post.
- Seasonal moments. In November that means cold weather, gift ideas and party season, the same signals you used in Lesson 6.
Before you post, check your supplier's terms on using product images and videos, and never imply you're an official brand store. Say what you are: an independent store selling authentic pieces.
A simple weekly rhythm
Consistency matters more than volume. A rhythm you can keep for months beats a burst you abandon after a week:
- Three posts a week on your main platform, built around your three strongest products.
- Reuse each post on the other two platforms, adjusted to their format.
- Fifteen minutes a day replying to comments and messages. Early followers who get a reply are far more likely to buy.
- One link that works. Make sure the link in your profile goes to a page with those products in stock, not just your homepage.
Measure what's working
After two weeks, look at your numbers. Which posts got saves, shares and profile visits? Which products did people ask about? Those are the products and formats to keep. A post with fewer likes but several questions about sizing is often worth more than a viral post nobody acts on.
See you Tuesday. We're planning your first $100 of ads.
