A store that looks trustworthy
Lhira Marcial, LD Academy · · 6 min
In Lesson 4 you went back to your marked products, decided which to keep, swap or save for a planned offer, and wrote down your margin floor. Now those products need a home. A luxury shopper is about to spend hundreds on a store they may never have heard of, and the first question in their head is simple: can I trust this place? Today we make sure the answer is yes.
First impressions take seconds
Visitors decide within a few seconds whether a store feels real. Check yours with fresh eyes:
- A clear name and logo. Simple, readable and the same everywhere: store, social profiles and emails.
- Clean, consistent product photos. Same background, same angles, no blurry or cropped images.
- No placeholder text. Remove every "Lorem ipsum", "Your text here" and empty page before you launch.
- A working, branded email address. An address on your own domain looks far more established than a free mailbox.
The pages that answer doubts before they're asked
Luxury customers read the small print. Make sure these pages exist, are easy to find from the footer, and match how you actually work:
- Shipping. Where items ship from, typical delivery times by region, and who pays import duties. Use the duties policy you wrote in Lesson 3.
- Returns. How many days, what condition items must be in, who pays return shipping and how long refunds take. Keep it short and specific.
- About. Who you are, what your niche is and why you chose it. Use your one-sentence niche from Lesson 2 as the starting point.
- Contact. An email address, and ideally a chat option, with a promise of how fast you reply.
Product pages that sell with confidence
Every product page should answer the questions a shopper would ask in a boutique:
- The facts. Brand, materials, colour, made in, and accurate measurements or a size guide.
- The certainty. Delivery time to the customer's country and a short line on returns, right next to the price.
- The honesty. Only describe what you know. Never claim stock, sizes or details you haven't checked with your supplier.
Social proof, built honestly
New stores have no reviews yet, and that's fine. Never invent them. Instead, show that real people are behind the store: an active social profile linked from your footer, a real photo or story on your About page, and fast, friendly answers to every message. When your first orders arrive, ask those customers for a review.
